Local time June 1, 2015, Nagoya, Japan, "Sunshine Power 2" solar plane landed at Nagoya Airport. The aircraft left Nanjing Lukou International Airport about 36 hours ago and was scheduled to fly to Hawaii, USA for six consecutive days and six nights.
According to Japanese media reports, the Swiss group of Solar Impulse 2, a single-person propeller aircraft that only relies on solar energy to fly around the world, said on the 23rd that the aircraft staying at Nagoya Airport in Aichi, Japan will be in local time. It took off at around 2:30 in the morning on the 24th. The aircraft will fly for approximately 5 days, with the destination being Hawaii.
Japanese media said that on June 1 this year, the plane made an urgent change of destination to avoid bad weather on June 1 this year. It landed at Nagoya Airport on the night of the same day. The aircraft repaired the broken part of the main wing during the stay and waited for the weather on the Hawaii route to improve.
The main wing of the aircraft is 72 meters long and can only take one person. The pilot is Andre Bosberg (62 years old). He uses the computer's auto-driving function in flight to enter short-term sleep multiple times, up to 20 minutes each time.
Persberg said at a press conference in Tokyo on the 18th: "It is a pleasant experience to ride a reliable plane. The most important thing is that I can drive (Sunshine Power 2)."
It is understood that the aircraft departed from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, in March this year. Persberg and another pilot took turns to fly the plane. If the trip is successful, it will be the world's first global one-week flight without fossil fuels.
