If JIM-Form technology is used, the difficult-to-formed parts that can only be processed by 780MPa grade steel plate can be realized with 980MPa grade steel plate, and also help to reduce the weight of the vehicle and improve the collision safety of the vehicle.
JIM-Form technology controls the stroke during forming by optimizing the folding between the workpiece and the metal mold during the forming process, so as not to impose excessive punching load during processing. Depending on the situation, the load is sometimes eliminated in an instant.
The original stamping forming mechanism adopts a mechanism in which the metal mold and the workpiece are always in contact until the upper mold is lowered and the workpiece is brought into contact with the workpiece until the forming stroke reaches the bottom dead center and the processing is completed. JIM-Form technology actively separates metal molds and workpieces during the forming process. At the moment of separation, the previously extruded lubricant is again flowed between the metal mold and the surface of the workpiece, thereby improving the slidability, reducing the forming load, and finally increasing the press forming rate.
In order to achieve this meticulous operation, it is necessary to flexibly control the sliding motion of the punching machine, and it is necessary to make full use of the function of the servo punching machine. To this end, the company set up a 3000kN-class servo press machine manufactured by Aida Engineering in its steel research institute (Chiba area), and conducted trial operation and research.
The previous practical use has shown that even when the same blanking force is applied, the maximum forming load can be lowered to a lower level than the original, so that the forming range of the steel sheet can be enlarged. When the 780 MPa high-tensile steel sheet is used for the small-scale deep drawing basic test, it can be formed by JIM-Form technology even under the condition that the ordinary forming method is broken. It is not only suitable for processing parts with high-tensile steel sheets, but also for processing high-stretching parts using ordinary soft steel sheets (TS grade 270MPa grade), and increasing the degree of freedom in component design by improving formability.
