In April 2004, Baode Company took a bid to Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. to renovate a 80's old-fashioned roll grinder.
The numerical control device on the grinding machine is close to scrapping, and a new grinding machine imported from abroad has more than 20 million yuan.
After repeated research and trials, Baode employees finally installed a high-tech CNC system for the grinding machine. The total cost of the renovation was only 2.6 million yuan.
