New technology for auto parts: dual clutch transmission (figure)

The automobile shifting system technology has been developed from manual shifting to automatic shifting. In particular, the high-speed development of computer technology at this stage is applied to the shifting shifting system, which has enabled the rapid development of the automatic shifting technology.

In recent years, there have been three main types of automotive automatic transmissions: an electronically controlled automatic transmission (AMT), a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and a hydraulic mechanical automatic transmission (AT). In the field of electronically controlled mechanical automatic transmissions, a new type of variable speed transmission has emerged in recent years, namely the dual clutch type automatic transmission (Dual Clutch Transmission), which inherits the simple structure of the ATM and the manual transmission and has a compact installation space. The light weight, high transmission efficiency, low manufacturing cost and many other advantages, combined with the good characteristics of AT uninterrupted power, rapid and smooth shifting, quickly became a new hot spot in the industry research and development. DCT will change the existing transmission market landscape to some extent. In the next few years, competition in the global light vehicle transmission market will begin between AT, CVT and DCT.

Development history and application status of dual clutch transmission technology

The concept of the dual clutch transmission (DCT) has been around for six or seven decades. As early as 1939, Germany's Kegresse.A first applied for a patent for a dual-clutch transmission, and proposed a design concept of dividing the manual transmission into two parts, one part transmitting odd-numbered files and the other part transmitting even-numbered files, and its power transmission through two Two clutches are coupled to the two input shafts, and the passive gears of adjacent gears are interlaced with the two input shaft gears. With the control of the two clutches, the transmission ratio can be changed without cutting off the power, thereby shortening the shifting time and effectively improving The shift quality, the transmission was once tested on the truck, limited to the control technology at the time, the transmission was not put into mass production. Then in the 1980s, Porsche also invented the dual-clutch transmission (PDK) dedicated to racing cars, but failed to put DCT technology into mass production.

In 1985, Volkswagen adopted dual-clutch transmission technology on the Audi Sport Quattro S1 (see Figure 1), but until the late 1990s, with the rapid development of electronic technology, dual-clutch control technology gradually matured, Volkswagen And BorgWarner first worked together to produce it on the Audi, the mainstream model for mass production, and named it the direct shift transmission Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG). In 2002, this technology innovation was first shown to the world. In 2003, the 6-speed DSG transmission was introduced, becoming the first OEM to provide a dual clutch system. In 2006, Volkswagen took the lead in applying the DSG transmission to the Audi TT 3.2. The DSG products were subsequently supplied to Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Touran, Volkswagen 5th Generation Golf, Volkswagen Bora, Audi A3, Audi TT, Seat, Skoda and many other models. . At present, it has set a sales record of more than 1 million pieces. Recently Volkswagen, code-named DQ200 transmission, used a pair of dry clutch plates instead of the liquid-adjusting dual-clutch plate of the original 6-speed DSG transmission, which significantly improved gear shifting efficiency and power transmission (see Figure 2, Figure 3). ).
