Due to the mass production of a certain part, I purchased four XK754 horizontal CNC milling machines (400mm×1 600mm) from Shanghai No. 3 (four) machine tool factory, equipped with FANUC 0i MC system, and controlled four axes of X, Y, Z and A. Since the machine tool is only used for the axial chute machining of the outer surface of the cylindrical part, the fourth axis (A-axis) of the machine tool is mainly used, and the special clamp is used for positioning and clamping, and the three-blade milling cutter is processed, so the machine tool is almost Become a special machine.
With the increasingly fierce market competition, the production of our branch must be diversified. Therefore, the branch plant makes full use of the existing resources to expand the processing function of the horizontal CNC milling machine to adapt to the processing of various parts. Since the machine tool is a CNC machine tool, after the machining function is expanded, the matching of the system parameters directly affects the programming of the NC program and the processing efficiency of the parts. Therefore, the configuration of system parameters becomes the key to the expansion of horizontal CNC milling machine processing functions.
2. Function expansion and parameter configuration
The horizontal CNC milling machine can expand its machining function by installing the vertical milling head. However, since the machine tool is a CNC machine tool, it is different from the vertical CNC milling machine and the vertical machining center after installing the vertical milling head, which is not only complicated in programming, but also cannot be programmed. Use cycle commands and tool compensation commands. Therefore, the system parameters must be matched while the vertical milling head is installed.
(1) Function extended Horizontal CNC milling machine The vertical milling head can expand the machining function, but the ordinary vertical milling head can only change the horizontal milling to the vertical milling, as shown in Figure 1. The principle is changed by the 90° bevel gear motion pair. Its transmission direction. As shown in Figure 2, the universal vertical milling head can not only be converted into vertical milling, but also can be rotated in the X-axis and Z-axis of the horizontal CNC machine coordinate system to expand the processing range. (2) Parameter configuration The coordinate system of the XK754 horizontal CNC milling machine is shown in Figure 3. It is different from the coordinate system of the vertical CNC milling machine and machining center (see Figure 4). Since the FANUC 0i MC system parameters have not been modified by the factory default, in the existing coordinate system, not only the tool rail is inconvenient to calculate, but also the tool can not be compensated after wear, which brings a lot of inconvenience to the programming, and ultimately affects the processing efficiency, which is not worth the loss. Therefore, after the processing function is extended, it is necessary to modify the two parameters 5001 (see Table 1) and 5101 (see Table 2).

3. Conclusion
Through the processing experiments, the processing function expansion and system parameter configuration of the XK754 horizontal CNC milling machine can meet the required use requirements. It is necessary to pay attention to the name and direction of each control axis to be programmed. When using the drilling cycle, the drilling axis is the Y axis, and the program position is calculated according to the coordinate system shown in Figure 3. This method is applicable to the horizontal CNC milling machine of the FANUC-0i MC system. For other CNC systems, it is necessary to modify the parameters after confirming the parameters.
