2012 China Ceramics Industry Development Trend: Stable Progress

In 2011, the Chinese ceramics industry was full of many unstable factors, among which the national macro-control policy and the European anti-dumping sanctions imposed on Chinese ceramics had a greater impact on the ceramics industry, while the exchange rate increase and inflation increased the ceramics enterprises. The days are very difficult. Despite this, most ceramic companies still achieved a steady increase in production and sales. Overall, the development of China's ceramic industry in 2011 was relatively stable.

Ceramics production capacity continues to grow In recent years, China's ceramic production areas have mushroomed and ceramics production capacity has increased dramatically. According to the latest data from relevant agencies, at present, there are 3,275 ceramic tile production lines in China with an annual production capacity of more than 10 billion square meters. The provinces with the largest scale of production lines are Guangdong, Shandong and Fujian. China continues to maintain its position as the world’s largest producer of ceramics, the first ceramic tile for per capita consumption, and the largest ceramic exporter.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, as of November 2011, the national ceramic tile production volume reached 8 billion square meters, an increase of 14.9% year-on-year, sales of more than 300 billion yuan, an increase of 31%; ceramic tile exports exceeded 900 million square meters, year-on-year Increased by 16%. China produced 18.2 million pieces of sanitary ceramics, a year-on-year increase of 42.20%. Among them, 30.71 million square meters of ceramic tile production, an increase of 2.06%. The output of Chinese ytterbium tiles reached 260 million square meters, an increase of 22.10% over the same period of last year. Among them, the output of Fujian tiled tiles reached 210 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 37.68%, accounting for 82.70% of the country's total output.

In sanitary ceramics, from January to November 2011, the output of sanitary ceramics in China reached 180 million, an increase of 17.17% year-on-year. From the perspective of the output of all provinces and cities, the first three provinces of sanitary ceramics production in the country in the first 11 months of 2011 were Henan, Guangdong, and Hebei, accounting for 45.20%, 16.53%, and 12.07% of the total output respectively.
