IP protection level certification
What is IP protection level?
The IP (INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION) protection rating system was drafted by the IEC (INTERNATIONAL LECTRO-TECHNICAL COMMISSION). The electrical appliances are classified according to their dust-proof and moisture-proof properties. The foreign objects referred to here include tools. The palms, fingers, etc. of a person must not come into contact with the live parts of the appliance to avoid electric shock. The IP protection class consists of two figures. The first figure indicates the level of dust from the appliance and the prevention of intrusion of foreign objects. The second figure indicates the degree of confinement of the appliance against moisture and water intrusion. The greater the degree of protection, the greater the degree of protection. The higher the level of protection indicated by the two marked numbers is shown in Tables 1 and 2
The first marked digital protection level definition
0 No protection No special protection for people or things outside
1 Prevent intrusion of solid objects larger than 50 mm. Prevent the human body (such as the palm of the hand) from accidentally touching parts inside the instrument. Prevent intrusion of foreign objects of larger size (diameter greater than 50mm).
2 Prevent intrusion of solid objects larger than 12 mm Prevent human fingers from coming into contact with parts inside the instrument to prevent intrusion of foreign objects of medium size (12 mm in diameter).
3 Prevention of penetration of solid objects larger than 2.5 mm Tools, wires or similar details that prevent diameters or thicknesses greater than 2.5 mm from intruding into contact with parts inside the instrument.
4 to prevent the penetration of solid objects larger than 1.0mm to prevent the diameter or thickness of tools, wires or similar details greater than 1.0mm small foreign objects invade and contact the internal parts of the instrument.
5 Dust prevention completely prevents the intrusion of foreign objects. Although the dust cannot be completely prevented from entering, the amount of intruded dust does not affect the normal operation of the instrument.
6 Dust prevention completely prevents intrusion of foreign objects, and can completely prevent dust from entering.
The second digital protection level definition
0 No protection No protection
1 Preventing drip from intruding Water droplets (such as condensate) that are dropped vertically will not have harmful effects on the instrument.
2 It can still prevent the intrusion of drip when the tilt is 15 degrees. When the instrument is inclined from the vertical to 15 degrees, the drip will not cause harmful effects on the instrument.
3 Prevent the sprayed water from intruding into the rain, or prevent the water sprayed from entering the meter with the vertical angle less than 60 degrees from causing damage.
4 Prevent splashing water from intruding Water splashed in all directions is prevented from entering the instrument.
5 to prevent the injection of water intrusion from the water from the nozzle in all directions into the instrument to cause damage.
6 to prevent the intrusion of large waves installed on the deck of the instrument, to prevent damage caused by the invasion of large waves.
7 Prevention of water intrusion during flooding When the instrument is immersed in water for a certain period of time or the water pressure is below a certain standard, it can be ensured that the water is not damaged.
8 Prevention of water intrusion when sinking The meter sinks indefinitely Under conditions of specified water pressure, it can be ensured that damage will not occur due to water ingress.
