According to the forecast report released by the Brazilian Ministry of Energy in late September 2010, Brazil's fuel ethanol production for vehicles will double to reach 64 billion liters by 2019.
Brazil’s Ministry of Energy said that currently Brazil’s ethanol production is 26 billion liters, and by 2019 it will reach 64 billion liters, and more than self-sufficiency will be used for exports.
So far, 47% of Brazil's energy production comes from renewable energy, of which 18% comes from sugar cane.
