Houhai West: the shortest alley along the three sides of Houhai

Houhai West is located on the west side of the Houhai. The shape of the alley is rectangular and ring-shaped, and the north-south direction of the alley is connected. Houhaibei is located along Deshengmen Inner Street in the west and Binhai Hutong in the north. It is 200 meters long and 4 meters wide. The name of the alley formed in ** fourteen years (1925). It was originally called Houhexi Riverside. In 1965, it was named Houhai West.

As we all know, due to the changes in the Shichahai Seawater System, the Houhaixi land is still part of the Shichahai Sea in the Yuan Dynasty and the early Ming Dynasty. The land formation may be in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. The reference object is Deshengqiao. In Shichahaizhi, the bridge was built in the Ming Dynasty. The exact time was not mentioned. The “bridge of Shichahai” edited by Mr. Zhang Bizhong sums up the years of the establishment of Deshengqiao as three kinds of arguments: Yongle for 18 years (1420), Xuande for seven years (1432) and late Ming Dynasty. However, the author of the Shichahai Research Association compiled the first poem written by Shi Shi Hai of Shi Wen Hai. Desheng Bridge is the interpretation of the Qin dynasty of the Ming dynasty Jiajing period, and the poem is “Dongsheng Desheng Bridge Over Longhua Temple”. The Longhua Temple is on the east of Desheng Bridge. In the north, when the scene here was “the flow of the He River was heard, the distance was steeper than the Daoxiang. Ping Ping was very deep, and the Changpu River was Qing Hao”. During the Ming Wanli period, Yuan Hongdao was described in the “Hie Chun with Xie Sheng, Wang Sheng, Xiao Xiu You Touring the North City Linshui Temple, to Desheng Bridge Water Xuan Yuan Month, when there was a slight sandstorm,” describing the surrounding environment of Deshengqiao as “a pool of songs. Taiwan is half a flower, far away from the mountains like a gauze." Another poem in Deshengqiao Shuixuan also has a verse of “Pink blossoms with water-scented Yuchi incense, hurricane trembling palace cool clouds”. Due to the lack of written materials, the specific location of Deshengqiao Shuixuan cannot be specified precisely. However, it can be inferred that after the middle Ming Dynasty, the Hercynian coast was still in the water, and perhaps it was rice fields that were opened.

When Haixi was formed as it is now, thanks to the liberation of rivers and lakes in the early days of liberation, the diversion canal along the south side of Houxixi is now the evidence of that year.
