Cloud computing develops security into resistance

If it is said that landing is the key word for cloud computing applications in 2011, then at the critical stage of cloud computing applications in 2012, cloud computing security issues will become the most intractable issue in the promotion and application of cloud computing enterprises. Analysis by industry insiders and future coping strategies for security issues will become the demarcation point for cloud computing companies to open up their competitive strengths.

Recently, Forrester Research survey showed that 51% of SMBs do not use cloud services because of security. In addition, globally, more than 90% of German and French corporate CIOs claim that security is a prerequisite for their adoption of cloud computing. 56% of European CIOs flag cloud computing security as extremely challenging. It can be seen that the security issue has severely hindered the development of cloud computing.

In addition, the IDC survey reports that security is ranked first in the top three market challenges cloud computing services face. At the same time, standardization organizations established abroad, such as the Cloud Computing Security Alliance CSA, the ITU-TSG17 Research Group, and the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards OASIS, have initiated the standardization of cloud security to accelerate the development of industrial applications.

Earlier, Ted Kummert, vice president of Microsoft’s commercial division, already pointed out that security is not a new topic. Microsoft spent many years of security on R&D, from the computing form to the cloud transformation, from enterprise-level computing. To existing cloud computing, Microsoft has regarded security as an important topic for a long time.

At present, many companies have begun to study cloud computing service models and security mechanisms to seek a safe, reliable, and economical solution. International IT giants such as Amazon, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Sun have considered cloud computing security as the biggest advantage in providing various cloud computing services.
