23Mn (Q345B) steel pipe is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a carbon content of 0.1%-0.25%, adding the main alloying elements manganese, silicon, vanadium, niobium and titanium; its total alloy content is <3%. Among them, A and B grade steels are usually called 16Mn16mn steel pipes.

Chemical composition of 23Mn steel pipe:

C: 0.12~0.20; Mn: 1.20~1.60; Si: 0.20~0.88; Tensile strength: 486~660 N/mm 2; Yield strength: 275~345 N/mm 2; Elongation: 21%. The specific value should be based on the thickness or diameter of the steel. The thickness or diameter of the above data corresponds to: 16~100mm

According to the intensity, it is divided into four levels of 300, 350, 400 and 450 MPa. There are mainly Q295, Q345, Q390, Q420, Q460. : "Q" is the Chinese Pinyin uppercase head of the yielding "Qu" character, after which the number is the minimum yield point (σs) value of the grade, and the subsequent sign is according to the content of the impurity element (sulfur, phosphorus) of the steel. It is divided into A, B, C, and D by the change of carbon and manganese.

The special steel grade for bridges is “16Mnq”, the special steel grade for automobile girders is “23MnL”, and the special steel grade for pressure vessels is “23MnR”.

This type of steel relies on adjusting the amount of carbon (C) to improve the mechanical properties of steel. Therefore, depending on the amount of carbon, such steel can be further divided into:

High carbon steel - carbon content is generally greater than 0.60%. Such steels are generally not used to make steel pipes.

Low carbon steel - the carbon content is generally less than 0.69%, such as 10, 20 steel;

Medium carbon steel - the carbon content is generally between 0.25 and 0.98%;

Before the spraying (polishing) treatment, the grease and scale on the surface of the steel pipe are removed by washing, and the tube body is preheated to 40 to 60 ° C by a heating furnace to keep the surface of the steel pipe dry. In the spraying (throwing) treatment, since the surface of the steel pipe does not contain dirt such as grease, the effect of rust removal can be enhanced, and the surface of the dried steel pipe is also advantageous for the separation of the steel shot, the steel sand, the rust and the scale, and the rust removal. The surface of the steel pipe is cleaner.
