According to the list issued by China Mobile, among the top 100 Chinese machinery industry companies, China Machinery Industry Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electric (Group) Corporation, Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd., Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. According to statistics, in 2009, the production scale and economic benefits of the top 100 enterprises in the machinery industry have reached a new level. The income from the main business of the top 100 enterprises was 105.1 billion yuan, and the total profit was 66.34 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.05%. Among the top 100 enterprises, 73% of the selected companies achieved profit growth over the previous year, and 12 of them had profit growth rates exceeding 100%.
Among the top 100 machinery industries in 2009, private enterprises accounted for 52%, state-owned enterprises accounted for 32%, and foreign-funded enterprises accounted for 16%.
According to Cai Weici, executive vice president of China Machine Tool Association, there are 83,721 enterprises above designated size in China's machinery industry (excluding automobile enterprises). The top 100 enterprises account for only 0.12% of the total number of enterprises, but the main business income accounts for 15.40% of the whole industry. The total profit accounted for 16.52%.
Cai Weici said that among the top 100 machinery industries, the enterprises with main business income exceeding 10 billion yuan had only three in 2003, and 28 in 2009, an increase of 25 from 2003. In 2009, for the first time, a large enterprise with a total investment of over 100 billion yuan, namely China Machinery Industry Group, had a revenue of 102 billion yuan in 2009.
