Thermal protection components commonly used in small and medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors can be roughly divided into three categories: PTC thermistors, PT100 temperature sensors and bimetal temperature relays. There is also a moisture-proof heating belt for internal heating of motors in humid environments. Next, Dalan Motor manufacturers will take you one by one to know.
1. PTC thermistor
The PTC thermistor is a positive temperature coefficient semiconductor resistance. When it exceeds the specified temperature (Curie temperature), its resistance value increases stepwise with the increase of temperature, which can reach 10-1000 times. When in use, it is equipped with electronic circuit detection, and then the relay is activated.
The PTC thermistor has a small volume, a small thermal capacity, and a fast response speed. When manufacturing the motor, the PTC thermistor is embedded inside the motor winding. The three-phase motor selects three thermistors connected in series, embeds them in the U, V, and W three-phase windings of the motor in sequence. After tying, the windings are dipped together with the windings, and the leads are led into the junction box.
2. Pt100 temperature sensor
Pt100 is a platinum thermal resistance sensor, its resistance is 100 ohms at 0 degrees. Pt100 temperature sensor is an analog signal, through the corresponding relationship between its resistance and temperature to achieve the temperature measurement of the corresponding part of the motor. Through the special integrated circuit to convert its resistance signal, it can achieve higher precision measurement.
When measuring the temperature of the winding, it is embedded in the winding at the end of the winding, tied and fixed, dipped in paint and dried together with the winding, and the lead wire is led into the junction box.
When measuring the bearing temperature, punch a hole (through) in the motor bearing chamber and twist the corresponding screw, and then install it firmly, so that the end face of the sensor contacts the outer ring of the bearing, and the wire leads into the junction box.
3. Bimetallic temperature relay
The bimetallic temperature relay can be directly buried in the motor winding. When the temperature of the winding rises close to the limit value when the motor is overloaded, the bimetallic strip with a pair of contacts is heated to bend, causing the contacts to open and cut off the circuit to achieve temperature protection for the motor.
4. Moisture-proof heating belt
In a humid environment, when the motor stops working, the moisture-proof heating belt starts to work to heat the motor windings, thereby avoiding moisture condensation on the motor windings and ensuring that the motor can still operate normally in a humid environment. The heating tape leads are led out together with the motor leads. When the motor is powered on, the heating belt is powered off; when the motor is powered off, the heating belt is powered on and heated.
