Cost price increases Thai timber and paint prices

According to Thailand's "World News" report, Thailand's Kyoto Cement's Conwood Building Material Company chairman Su Tipung Peng said that raising the price of wood-plastic composite building materials 3-5%, because of the increase in costs, especially in the production of fuel, and transportation costs.

At present, the company's annual production capacity of wood-plastic composite building materials is about 90,000 tons. It plans to invest 500 million to expand production capacity and increase about 45,000 tons. It is expected that the first quarter of 2012 can be put into operation. The market value of wood-plastic composite building materials is not less than 5 billion baht, an increase of 10% per year because of the limited natural resources of wood. Suiping Peng said that from January to May 2011, the company’s sales increased by 15% year-on-year. If the political situation after the election is stable, it is expected that the annual sales volume will increase by 10% to a total value of 1.1 billion baht.

Thailand's TOA Coatings Co., Ltd.'s Managing Director Shai Dupai pointed out that the price of titanium dioxide in paint raw materials increased by 100%, resulting in an overall increase in product costs by 10%, but the company's product prices increased only 5-7%, which is equivalent to a loss of 3%. Good sales from January to May 2011 are expected to reach the set target for the whole year, with a year-on-year increase of 10% and no less than 12 billion baht.
